About Me
I have been involved with operating businesses since I was a tween - a valuable byproduct of having a family-operated manufacturing business. In my growing years I was involved with the restaurant/bar/nightclub industry and became irritated with the dreaded, green, ledger sheets of days of old. Between Lotus 1-2-3 and Excel spreadsheets I became quite adept at manipulating data to make it useful for each business. Whether this was for easy record keeping, inventory, ordering, calendars or whatever else was needed for that business.
As I returned to the retail industry I was introduced to the Filemaker program. Originally it was just a flat-file, non-relational database program that utilized custom layouts and a fairly nice reporting feature. Slowly as new versions emerged, Filemaker became a viable database solution for everything from personal use to large business solutions.
Throughout the last fifteen years I have been fortunate to have a best friend who became a database engineer for a living. Through his projects, I have been included as a grunt worker - learning as I have gone along. I have broadened my understanding of other businesses and have applied the skills towards my own projects.
I still operate our manufacturing facility but have set aside time each week to work on other projects and business consulting.
I offer you over twenty years of business operations and a common sense view to your business. Sometimes I can look at a situation and offer that ‘view’ from the outside to see what could solve your problems, remove bottlenecks, and hopefully allow you to grow or at least be more effective with what you have.
I have many friends in different industries and if you need something that is out of my realm of expertise, I can facilitate the introductions or can manage the project for you.
